I was late on our first date with my now ex husband....Me!...who always makes a big fuss about being on time....
We kept going back and forth" you said 8 o'clock" "no, I said 7.30"....It should have been a tell tale right there.
Hello everyone at theLoveLogic,
I thought this might be a fun way to get this forum off and running. If anyone has any first datie disaster stories, please feel free to post. This might be a great way to help other avoid another bad dating experience.
Just for the record, one squirt of perfume or cologne is fine...
First date disaster stories! OH MY....
Actually Dave, I would rather hear some first date "success" stories as I just had one last Friday and that "sparkle" is back in my eye! PLUS, by not "settling" I found a very nice man who also gave me the "spark" I was looking for!
Date 2.... This Friday! SMILING!

Heh...this is a fun thread, Dave...guess i would have a few stories to write here as i had a period in my life when i deliberately screw first dates just to see what worked and what didn't ...makes me wonder why people stay away from this "MISTAKES THREADS" ...since when addmiting doing something wrong makes you a lesser man/woman ?
As a general rule , i found out that you can be the king of Rudesville on the first date, and you can't still turn it into a fairy tale ...it all depends on the comebacks and the general mood
I've already told the story of "The Groper" - that was the biggest first date mistake I'd been a part of.
I have a worst "first sexual encounter" story in addition to that (obviously, NOT with the Groper!). But it wasn't my fault, and I don't even know how it happened anyway. I got a nosebleed. Maybe the air was just really dry or something. I don't know. But I repeat: IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!!!

Hrmm... I've only been on a few first dates before so I don't have too much to go off of. I'd say maybe my very very first date ever once in high school. There was this guy that met up with me at the mall and we walked around and talked but I wasn't attracted to him and I figured out I just wanted to be friends. The mall went okay and everything but afterward I went on aim and one of his girl friends was talking to me saying that he liked me and asking what I thought and stuff. I was honest and said that I liked him as a friend and then I got chewed out by both him and her. A month later I saw a picture of him and some other girl making out on their profile pic. Thought it was pretty lame that he broadcasted it to the whole internet world but whatever.. desperate. lol
I was out with a girl last week.
Now I was slightly drunk shall we say when I met her pthe week before !
I knew she was blonde but thats kinda as far as it goes !
Soo, I decided to meet her ay my favourite tapas place here, I made sure I was not early so she'd be at the bar, so I walks in and theres 2 blondes at the bar, me being me, I went for the more attractive one, WRONG !!!
Worst thing was the other blonde thought I was chatting her up and seemed to be enjoying it, it soon dawned on me when my 'date' made herself known, surprisingly she stayed for dinner, unsurprisingly she never called.
I know, I know MY BAD !!!
I once went on a date with a guy who high-fived me every time he said something (he thought) was funny....the thing is all my friends (and my children) know NEVER to high-five me, I either flinch or miss completely am such a geek lol was the date from hell and I couldn't wait to get home, everyone else thought it was funny though!!
